CHRISTMAS MEME

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping Paper
2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial. A real tree is more "fun", and it certainly smells better, but they are expensive.
3. When do you put up the tree? Anytime from the day after Thanksgiving 'till December 7 or so.
4. When do you take the tree down? A couple of days after Christmas. I like to have the space back in my living room, and it's a depressing reminder that Christmas is over.
5. Do you like eggnog? I really only like the homemade stuff by Uncle Ade/Aunt Ginny.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I think the teddy bear that my parents gave me that plays "Rock-A-Bye Baby", which to my Mom and I is really "Jesus Loves Children", which is the way Mom used to sing the lullaby.
7. Hardest person to buy for? This year it is Mom and Caleb. Last year, Caleb was the easiest.
8. Easiest person to buy for? This year it was Eben. Last year, he was the hardest.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, but I don't put it up, simply because I don't have room.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Can’t think of one. Oh wait. The pooping reindeer that Dwane gave me last year. (Inside joke.)
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? The Santa Clause (I liked all 3)
13. When do you start shopping? I like to pick things up all year as I find a bargain.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Mom's Chex Mix.
16. Lights on the tree? Yes -- all white/clear, and unblinking. Any color is fine, though, as long as they are all the same color.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Probably "Mary Did You Know?"
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Christmas Eve 3 miles away at my grandmother's, Christmas AM at home, Christmas Afternoon 3 miles away at my Mom's, and 2 days after Christmas at my father-in-law's. The furthest I have ever been over Christmas is Lewiston/Auburn area on Christmas Eve (about 1 3/4 hours away).
19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? Yes.
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Definitely an angel.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve? Christmas? Both.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Lack of Parking. Crowded stores.
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I collect Hallmark Ornaments. Every year, I buy "Mom", "Dad", and 2 "Son"s. Dwane buys me "Our Christmas Together" as an anniversary gift. My Mom buys me "Mother/Daughter", and my grandmother buys me "Granddaughter".
24.Favorite Ornament on tree? Almost every ornament on the tree is special to me because they mean something.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Games for my DS. Cookbooks. Beth Moore stuff. I'd like to have an AeroGarden, but I didn't think of it early enough to put it on my Christmas list. Maybe my birthday?
26. What was your most memorable magical Christmas memory from your adulthood? The year when Eben was 2 or 3 (I can't remember exactly.) Everytime he opened a package, he'd be so excited and scream "It's a box! It's a box!" He was just thrilled to get just a box.
27. Have you ever been involved in a Christmas gift prank? I remember that "prank" involving my Mom, Beloved and Billy Rhythm, but I don't think I was actually part of that.
28. Favorite Christmas Cartoon? I'm not big into cartoons, so I'll just say A Charlie Brown Christmas. (I can recite a great portion of Luke 2 because of Linus's speech.)

Me too! I was just telling Jason the other day that the only way I enjoy hearing the Christmas Story is when it is told in the KJV. And this is mostly because it's the way Linus recites it! :-)

That prank taught me a valuable lesson about Christmas I haven't forgotten. In fact, I'll never forget it...
