"Favorites" MI-5:

I know I'll probably miss some of my favorites, but these are the ones the come to mind quickly:

1. 5 favorite foods

Lobster, Steak, Chocolate, Boiled Dinner with Ham, Potatoes

2. 5 favorite albums

WOW Gold, WOW #1s, Judds Greatest Hits (because of the "sing-along" ability--great for when I'm driving to Virginia), INXS Greatest Hits (Eben and Caleb love this one, too), and, oh, I don't know--let's just throw in Brad Paisley's Mud on the Tires.

3. 5 favorite books/stories

The Bible (for reading purposes I like the NCV), The Bridges of Madison County, Love Comes Softly series by Janette Oke, Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Quick & Simply weekly magazine.

4. 5 favorite activities

Reading (especially magazines!), Scrapbooking, Crocheting, Shopping (I even like grocery shopping), Being with my family (my immediate family, my extended family, and my church family).

5. 5 favorite words

Mama (when said with love), Grace, Lisa Marie Batty Wight (what Dwane calls me), Eben, and Caleb.

Billy Rhythm's MI-5:

These are all crazy. They don't mean anything, and I just made them up. No real theme.

Hypothetically speaking...

1) You have to have some kind of surgery to have something removed.
Strangely, though, you get to pick what's cut out/off. What do you choose?

I have a skin tag under one arm that I would have removed.

2) You are only allowed to enter one store for the rest of your life.
Your familly may enter wherever they want, and you may shop online, but physically, you can only enter one store. What do you pick?

I'd have to pick a Super Wal-Mart. It's got it all. Food. Clothes. Jewelry. Games.

3) You must give up all your jewelry but one thing. What do you keep?
A necklace? A watch? An heirloom?

Believe it or not, that one's really hard. My first thought, of course, was my wedding/engagement set from Dwane. Then I got thinking about my Mom's original Mother's Ring that she gave me. (It's got my birthstone, along with my parents' birthstones.) I also have a diamond pendant and a sapphire jewelry set that my parents gave me. I also have an amethyst ring that my Dad bought for my Aunt Ginny on her 13th birthday, and that she gave to me on my 13th birthday. And, I have my grandmother Yattaw's Wedding/Anniversary set. They are all so special. Since I still have Dwane with me, though, and I no longer have my Dad or my Nanny, I might actually pick something that was given to me by them.

4) You get only one type of breakfast item to eat for the rest of your life. It can be prepared different ways, but it needs to be the same basic thing. Eggs? Pancakes? Muffins? What is it? Why?

Eggs. They are so versatile. And it helps that I really like them. If it had to be a type of cereal, I think I'd pick Frosted Mini Wheats.

5) You must get a tattoo. What do you get? Where do you put it? Why?

I really don't like tattoos at all. I guess I'd have something small, with Eben's and Caleb's names, maybe on my hip? (I don't like it when you see tattoos when a woman is all dressed up, so I wouldn't want something peeking through my pantyhose, or under a spaghetti strap.)

I should have posted this several days ago--but--EBEN CAME IN 4TH PLACE IN THE DISTRICT PINEWOOD DERBY! We were so excited. He placed 4th out of 106 cars. Pretty good, I'd say. He won a great big trophy. (The biggest one he had won himself, and the 3rd biggest overall.--He collects trophies.)

Memories M-I5, by Amy

1. Do you remember having a favorite cartoon or television show as a child? Which was your first favorite that you recall?

I remember realling enjoying Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo. I think they might be my first television memories. I remember that on Romper Room the kids used to walk around on "stompers" that were like big coffee cans that you wanted on. And on Captain Kangaroo, I remember, "Brush your teeth. Round and round. Circles small. Gums and all. A small soft toothbrush, the round and round way. Will keep your gums healthy and stop tooth decay. So clean very carefully three times a day. Go round and round."

2. Who is the first teacher you remember? What do you remember about this teacher?

Well, I can remember my Mom and Richard & Harriet Post being my first Sunday School teachers. My first school teacher was Mrs. Falla. I remember I loved her. It's weird, though, because I actually think I have more memories of my kindergarten music teacher. His name was Mr. Cappas or something like that. He always brought his guitar with him, and on one song he would bang his hand on the guitar to make a rhythm. For some reason, that scared me.

3. Give us your earliest memory of a family vacation.

My immediate family didn't really start taking "family vacations" until I was much older, maybe even after I graduated from high school. We used to take lots of little day trips on Saturdays, like going to Uncle Roger and Aunt Dee Dee's place in Union, or to Beaver Lodge, or to Perry's Nut House in Belfast (we LOVED that place), or to Cook's Corner in Brunswick for shopping. I think the first time we went on an overnight vacation as a family was when we went to New Hampshire. The first overnight vacation I remember was actually with my Aunt Ginny and Uncle Adrian. They took me and my brother, Billy Rhythm, to Mamaroneck, NY and NYC. We went to the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Playland (I think it was called), and had Sicilian thick-crust pizza and Carvel soft serve vanilla ice cream. What I remember most about the trip, though, was the way they piled the blankets and pillows into the car to make a "nest" for Billy and I to travel in.

4. Can you share a favorite childhood memory regarding a specific toy you liked?

I remember having a small pet turtle with a little plastic dish with a plastic palm tree. I also remember some sort of gingerbread house game. I think it had some kind of "arm" on it that you pulled down. Those were my earliest memories. My favorite toys, though, were my Teddy Bear (which I still sleep with) and Barbies, of course. I loved to spread all my Barbie stuff all over my bedroom or living room floor. I had the airplane, the camper, the townhouse. Loved it!

5. What is your earliest recollection of music?

I don't know for sure. In our Saturday car trips, we used to sing a lot. Mom and Dad didn't really like the radio. We used to sing, "In the Good Ole Summertime," "Bicycle Built for Two," "Darktown Strutter's Ball", "K-K-K-K-Katie", "Billy Boy"--that kind of stuff. I also remember Ma singing "Bye, lo, Baby, Bye, Bye, Lo, Baby". Not sure if she sang it to me, specifically, but I know she used to sing it. I'm sure that Sunday School songs were part of my early years, too, but I'm just not sure which would actually be the "earliest".

THE MI-5 OF NOW

1. If I could get you something to drink right what would it be?

Right now, I'm drink CF Diet Pepsi with my popcorn, and it's tasting pretty good. Besides that, I'm always into a Mocha Coolatta from Dunkin Donuts.

2. If you could take a vacation right now (leaving in the AM) where would you want to go?

I'm really itching to go back to Virginia again to visit my sister-in-law. I love going there. Warmer climate. Natural Bridge. Sonic. Biscuitville. Thomas Road Baptist Church. LOVE IT. If I was going to pick something a little bit more exotic, I'd love to go on another cruise--only I'd like to find one that would stay at each island over night, so that I could get more of a feel for the location.

3. If there is one burden in your life you could have lifted right now what would it be?

Right at this very second, I wish that I didn't have quite so much work to do. For bigger burdens to be lifted I would just wish for the Rapture. That way, I could get rid of the mourning for my Dad, and the new financial pressure we're under right now.

4. The celbrity of your choice is in the other room right now. Who is it?

Oh. I don't know. I'm not much of a "celebrity worshipper", although I certainly find celebrities interesting. The Desperate Housewives would make an interesting combination, but that's more than one. Maybe Elisabeth Hasselbeck from The View. I think the two of us could be absolutely wonderful friends.

5. What time is it right now and what time do you wish it was?

It's 3:08 PM right now. I wish it was about 8:00 PM. Just about time to go to bed. I always love to go to bed.
